All About Us

Hello and welcome to our about us page. 

Country View Florist has been in business in Raymore for about 30 years now.  But, as of September 1, 2010 we have a whole new look, feel, and smell.  Yes, if you’ve been in the store in the past, you probably smelled more smoke than flowers.  Well, we are a NO smoking shop and our flowers smell like flowers!!  I have very creative designers that are fabulous at one-of-a-kind, unique arrangements.  I had to let the mega-wire services go because their recipe designs and their fees were not something that we wanted to tolerate. 

I am Kurt Lauvstad, owner of Country View Florist, LLC.  I was formerly in IT for 20 years and with the downturn of the economy, I was relieved of duty.  So, after almost 2 years of contract jobs, or no job, I decided I would be better off being my own boss.  I found this store for sale on a business-for-sale website.  Since I only live 1 mile from the shop, I decided I would check into purchasing the business.  Which I did. 

I am not the designer, my fiance, Margie Shope, is my lead designer and fresh flower manager.  She has a degree in graphic design and has also been a self employed interior designer.  She learned very quickly and has quite an eye for color.  My other designer is a young lady named Maria.  She has worked for a grocery florist in the past, but was stifled in her creativity.  She has lots of creative and festive ideas and we thoroughly enjoy having her as part of our team.

We are still in the process of creating a fabulous web site, but until then, have patience with us.  The items you see are unique, so, we will probably not be able to re-create any one item exactly.  But the designers have the talent and know how to produce magnificent arrangements.
